Filipina singing sensation Arisxandra Libantino is included among the finalists of Britain’s Got Talent after she sang Whitney Houston’s ‘I have Nothing’ in the semi-finals and impressed the panel of judges on the live show earlier this week.
One of the judges, David Williams gave her a standing ovation and said, "You blew the roof off the joint. Simon made a point earlier about kids being on the show but if you have a talent like yours, you've got to share that with the world.”
The other judges also gave their comments with Alesha Dixon saying, "I could tell you were a little bit nervous... Once you got into it and your vocals opened up, you were on fire” and Amanda Holden praising, "You tore the place up, you had a standing ovation at the end. I can see you really came into your own at the end."
Even veteran judge Simon Cowell was wowed with her performance. He said, "If you've got it, you've got it. Who cares how old you are. It was one of the best performances of the night, and I would like to dedicate this one to Bruce."
Cowell was referring to entertainment icon Bruce Forsyth who reportedly criticized the show for featuring children.
Libantino ranked second in the public votes while singing duo Richard and Adam Johnson from Wales topped the public vote after singing 'Somewhere' from West Side Story.
The young Brit’s father, Aristotle spoke to ABS-CBN Europe to express his gratitude for the support many Pinoys in the UK have given his daughter. "I would like to thank all the Pinoys who have been supporting Xaxa, praying for her and they are massive (support)," he said.
"I’m really proud as dad because of her achievement last night. Getting to the finals is unbelievable and very hard to achieve," he added.
