American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres announced in the April 30 episode of her show that she was “blown away” by the performance of a young Filipino singer who has become an Internet sensation after he sung his pitch-perfect rendition of “Dance With My Father”.
"Last week, I saw a video of this young man, he’s from the Philippines and you gotta see this kid, amazing," Ellen said before she played Aldrich Lloyd Talonding’s video which also includes his cousin James Walter Bucong accompanying him on guitar.
The video has gone viral, and obviously made a fan of DeGeneres. Now, after inviting singers like Charice and Rhap Salazar, DeGeneres wants to hear Lloyd live.
After the clip ended, DeGeneres said, "How beautiful is that? Such soul in that little boy so I'm looking for you. Please come here and sing to me and all of my friends here. You're amazing."
Talonding’s video is also posted on Ellen’s website with a caption that says, "This amazing web video surfaced from the Philippines, and Ellen was blown away by this young man's moving performance. Check it out!"
Coming from General Santos City, Talonding is the fourth Filipino aspiring singer Ellen invited to perform in her show. The other ones were Charice Pempengco, Rhap Salazar, and Zendee Rose Tenerefe.
