Here is the updated 2012-2013 PBA Philippine Cup team standings. The first conference of the 2012-13 PBA season kicked-off on September 30, 2012 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City with a battle between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings and Globalport Batang Pier as its first game.

The opening game between Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings and Globalport Batang Pier was really really good. Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings showed their dazzling scoring prowess as they dominated the Globalport Batang Pier.

The 2012-2013 PBA Philippine Cup does not allow teams to hire foreign players or imports and follows the format of two-round eliminations, with each team playing 14 games. Each of the ten (10) teams will play teams within their group once and will play teams from the other group twice. Take note that the teams are divided into two groups on the basis of their natural draft order from the previous rookie draft.

Once top eight teams are determined they will play for the quarterfinals. In case of tie, playoffs will be held only for the #2 and #8 seeds. Note that #1 and #2 seeds are twice-to-beat in the quarterfinals against the #8 and #7 seeds, respectively. #3 seed vs #6 seed and #4 seed vs #5 seed will play for best-of-3 series.

The semifinals will be played in best-of-7 series between QF1 and QF4 winners, and QF2 and QF3 winners. Winners of the semifinals will play for the finals on the basis of best-of-7 series.
