It's very rare that CHED officials suspended classes in tertiary or collegiate levels. They usually leave the decisions to individual colleges and universities, prompting students to call their college administrators.

With the suspension of classes today, September 26, 2011, by DepED in the pre-school, elementary, and secondary due to the heavy rains brought by typhoon Pedring, college students would like to know if there is a suspension of classes in their levels (college and post-graduate) tomorrow, September 27, 2011 (Tuesday).

In fact one of the concerned citizens is ABS-CBN celebrity and Pilipinas Got Talent host Luis Manzano. In his official Twitter account, Lucky tweeted the following questions 15 hours ago:
@luckymanzano why is it that some times its suspended for grade and high school but not college considering that you pass the same roads?

@luckymanzano whats the logic of suspending classes in grade shool and high school but not college? anyone in DEPED? im curious

As of this posting, no information yet posted by CHEd and DepEd officials if there is a suspension of classes in all levels in NCR, and other areas tomorrow, September 27, 2011. (Please see DepEd and colleges and universities updates on suspension of September 28, 2011 classes by clicking here).

DepEd reminded "[t]he public should not wait for the Department of Education (DepEd) to announce the suspension of classes, explaining that the “automatic suspension should be followed based on the weather advisory of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).”

As public storm warning signals were raised because of Tropical Storm "Pedring", the Department of Education (DepEd) has reiterated its guidelines on the suspension of classes on Tuesday, September 27, 2011.

"For areas under Signal No. 1, automatic suspension in Kindergarten. Signal No. 2, automatic suspension in Kindergarten, Elementary & High School," DepeD tweeted.

Tertiary levels will be included in the suspension of classes when an area is under Signal Number 3.

  4. may pasok pa po ba sa FEATI University

  5. What the hell is ATENEO doing? UP and MIRIAM already suspended their classes. MC is just right beside ADMU. Does the rain stop there that's why we still have classes? :|

  6. What if the college administrators would say that there will classes?isn't it unfair to those who are from places who are affected by the typhoon?
