Two Hundred Twenty Eight (228) strong and able individuals passed the very stringent process of deliberation and selection made by the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Cadet Procurement Board headed by the Chairman and the Superintendent of PMA, Vice Admiral Leonardo C Calderon Jr AFP. Out of this number, Two Hundred Three (203) are males and Twenty Five (25) are females. Said number will report on April 1, 2011 as a Cadet of PMA who will compose the members of PMA Class 2015. These individuals’ undergone series of rigid mental and physical examination and was carefully selected to become a full government scholar for four years leading to a Bachelors of Science Degree.
The 228 came from all walks of life and from all over the archipelago ranging from as far north as Batanes to as far down south as Tawi-tawi. This group of young men and women started from thousands of applicants vying for cadetship to PMA numbering to 15,486. However, only 8,007 were able to take and mental examination conducted last August 29, 2010. Out of the 8,007 individuals who took the PMA Entrance Examination, only 1,192 passed the exam (15% passing rate). Said passers were required to undergo the complete physical and medical examination conducted on three different stations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The medical and physical examination was conducted to be able to determine who are physically fit for the service such as on mental, physical, emotional and psychological aspect.
However, the number of the incoming cadet to the PMA may change pending the result of the medical compliances of some candidate who are still on process of submitting some requirements.
